How Long Does It Take For Deposits To Clear?

Users have two deposit options when funding their PrivateAuto Pay account to get ready to buy a car either via Wire Transfer (Quickest) or with an ACH bank transfer (3-6).

Wire Transfer

A wire transfer will fund your account the same day or the next business day, depending on when the wire was initiated from your external bank account into PrivateAuto Pay. We suggest this option when you are on a time constraint.

Bank Transfer

A bank transfer is completed via ACH, and it can take anywhere from 2-6 days for your funds to clear in your PrivateAuto Pay account. The cutoff time for each weekday is 2:00 PM EST. If you initiate a bank transfer after 2 pm EST, it will begin processing the following day.

Once you complete a bank transfer, your pending amount will appear on the top of your PrivateAuto Pay account giving you a more accurate timeframe for your deposit depending on the time and day you initiated it. It will look something like this:

We recommend onboarding the necessary funds into your PrivateAuto Pay account in advance so you are ready to purchase a car. This is your personal bank account set up in your name, and you can access the funds whenever you need it. Money can move in and out at any time.
