Arkansas - How To Transfer A Title
Before beginning, please note the following:
- Only use black or blue ink. Any other color will void the title.
- Do not erase anything or use white-out.
- Write neatly.
- Do not use nicknames.
- Mistakes can void the document.
Arkansas Title Transfer
Front of Title:
*Red = Lienholder*
- If applicable, the lienholder will release the lien by entering the required information.
- If there is more than one lienholder, they will also release the lien by entering the required information.
Back of Title:
*Red = Seller, Teal = Buyer*
- The seller enters the buyer's name and address.
- The seller enters the exact odometer reading.
- Don't include tenths of a mile.
- Only mark boxes 1 or 2 if the mileage listed exceeds the odometer's mechanical limits or if the odometer reading is not the actual mileage.
- The seller enters the date of the sale and the sale price of the car, prints and signs their name, and enters their address.
- The buyer should also be present to fill out the bill of sale.
- If there is a co-seller, they will also sign and print their name and enter their address.
- The buyer prints and signs their name.
What to Bring to the State Revenue Office
- Title or Duplicate Title
- Official Release of Lien or Permission to Issue a Replacement Title
- If applicable.
- Seller only.
- Vehicle Registration Application
- Buyer only.
- Notice of Transfer of Ownership of a Motor Vehicle
- Seller only.
- Proof of Identification
- Proof of Insurance
- Payment for Applicable Fees
