Arkansas - How To Transfer A Title

Before beginning, please note the following:

• Only use black or blue ink. Any other color will void the title.
• Do not erase anything or use white-out.
• Write neatly.
• Do not use nicknames.
• Mistakes can void the document.

Arkansas Title Transfer

Front of Title:

*Red = Lienholder*

1. If applicable, the lienholder will release the lien by entering the required information.
   1. If there is more than one lienholder, they will also release the lien by entering the required information.

Back of Title:

*Red = Seller, Teal = Buyer*

1. The seller enters the buyer's name and address.
2. The seller enters the exact odometer reading.
   1. Don't include tenths of a mile.
   2. Only mark boxes 1 or 2 if the mileage listed exceeds the odometer's mechanical limits or if the odometer reading is not the actual mileage.
3. The seller enters the date of the sale and the sale price of the car, prints and signs their name, and enters their address.
   1. The buyer should also be present to fill out the bill of sale.
   2. If there is a co-seller, they will also sign and print their name and enter their address.
4. The buyer prints and signs their name.

   

What to Bring to the State Revenue Office

• Title or Duplicate Title
• Official Release of Lien or Permission to Issue a Replacement Title
  • If applicable.
  • Seller only.
• Vehicle Registration Application
  • Buyer only.
• Notice of Transfer of Ownership of a Motor Vehicle
  • Seller only.
• Proof of Identification
• Proof of Insurance
• Payment for Applicable Fees
