Pennsylvania - How To Transfer A Title
Before beginning, please note the following:
- Only use black or blue ink. Any other color will void the title.
- Do not erase anything or use white-out.
- Write neatly.
- Do not use nicknames.
- Mistakes can void the document.
Pennsylvania Title Transfer
Front of Title: Lienholder(s) and Notary Public
*Red = Notary, Teal = Lienholder*
- If applicable, on the front of the title, the secured party (lienholder) will release the lien by entering the required information.
- If there is more than one lienholder, they will also enter the required information.
- If applicable, the new secured party (lienholder) will enter the required information.
- If there is more than one lienholder, they will also enter the required information.
- A notary public will enter the required information.
Back of Title: Buyer and Seller
*Teal = Buyer, Red = Seller, Navy = Lienholder*
- The seller enters the exact odometer reading.
- Don't include tenths of a mile.
- Only check boxes 1 or 2 if the odometer reading is in excess of its mechanical limits or if the mileage listed is not the actual mileage.
- The buyer prints their last, first, and middle names, enters their street address, city, state, and purchase price, and signs and prints their name.
- If there is a co-buyer, they will also print and sign their name.
- The seller then signs and prints their name.
- If there is a co-seller, they will also sign and print their name.
- If applicable, the lienholder to appear on the new title will enter the required information.
