Idaho - How To Transfer A Title

Before beginning, please note the following:

• Only use black or blue ink. Any other color will void the title.
• Do not erase anything or use white-out.
• Write neatly.
• Do not use nicknames.
• Mistakes can void the document.

Idaho Title Transfer

Front of Title:

*Red = Seller, Buyer = Teal, Green = Lienholder*

1. The seller enters the exact odometer reading, the date the vehicle was sold, the sale price, and their printed name and signature.
   1. Don't include tenths of a mile.
   2. Only check boxes 1, 2, 3, or 4 if the mileage is in excess of the odometer's mechanical limits; the vehicle is exempt, the odometer reading is not the actual mileage, or there is no device.
   1. No device = The vehicle was built with no odometer, the odometer has been removed, or the vehicle has a non-functional electronic odometer.
2. The buyer prints their name, address, city, state, and zip code and then enters their signature.
3. If applicable, the lienholder will release the lien by entering the required information.
   1. If there is more than one lienholder, they will also release the lien by entering the required information.
4. If applicable, the buyer enters the lienholder's information to appear on the new title.

• The Original Title
• Application for Certificate of Title
• Vehicle or Hull Identification Number Inspection Certificate
• Power of Attorney
  • Only if you're applying for a title transfer by mail.
• Payment for Applicable Fees
