Idaho - How To Transfer A Title
Before beginning, please note the following:
- Only use black or blue ink. Any other color will void the title.
 - Do not erase anything or use white-out.
 - Write neatly.
 - Do not use nicknames.
 - Mistakes can void the document.
 
Idaho Title Transfer
Front of Title:
*Red = Seller, Buyer = Teal, Green = Lienholder*
- The seller enters the exact odometer reading, the date the vehicle was sold, the sale price, and their printed name and signature. 
  
- Don't include tenths of a mile.
 - Only check boxes 1, 2, 3, or 4 if the mileage is in excess of the odometer's mechanical limits; the vehicle is exempt, the odometer reading is not the actual mileage, or there is no device.
 - No device = The vehicle was built with no odometer, the odometer has been removed, or the vehicle has a non-functional electronic odometer.
 
 - The buyer prints their name, address, city, state, and zip code and then enters their signature.
 - If applicable, the lienholder will release the lien by entering the required information. 
  
- If there is more than one lienholder, they will also release the lien by entering the required information.
 
 - If applicable, the buyer enters the lienholder's information to appear on the new title. 

 
What to Bring to the DMV
- The Original Title
 - Application for Certificate of Title
 - Vehicle or Hull Identification Number Inspection Certificate
 - Power of Attorney
  
- Only if you're applying for a title transfer by mail.
 
 - Payment for Applicable Fees
