Arkansas Vehicle Registration

Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.

  • Properly Filled Out Title
  • Bill of Sale
    • Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale.
    • If you have questions about the bill of sale, contact your local DMV.
  • Proof of Ownership
    • Vehicle title.
  • Signed Copy of the Lien Agreement
    • If applicable
  • Vehicle Registration Application
  • Valid Arkansas Auto Insurance Policy
  • Valid Form of Identification
  • The Vehicle's Current Registration
  • Federal Odometer Statement
    • Only if the vehicle is less than 20 years old, the title's control number is less than 3003001, or the title is registered out of state.
    • Can be filled out on the back of the vehicle title.
  • VIN Verification
    • Only if the vehicle you're registering was purchased out of the state of Arkansas and has a salvage or similar title.
  • Proof of Vehicle Assessment
    • Must be assessed or listed for assessment by your county's assessor within the current year.
  • Proof of Paid Personal Property Tax
    • Examples:
      • County tax receipt
      • Stamped assessment certifying tax payment.
  • Emissions Test
    • Emissions tests are NOT required in the state of Arkansas.

*Residents of Arkansas have 30 days from the purchase date to register their vehicle.
