Colorado Vehicle Registration
Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.
- Properly Filled Out Title or Current Registration Certificate
- Bill of Sale
- Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale
- If you have questions concerning the bill of sale, contact your local DMV.
- Valid Colorado Auto Insurance Policy
- Valid Form of Identification
- VIN Verification Form
- Only if the vehicle was titled outside of Colorado.
- Must be performed by a law enforcement officer, a licensed Colorado emissions testing station agent, or a licensed car dealer.
- Emissions Test
- Emissions tests are required for vehicle registration in the state of Colorado, with a few exceptions.

- Payment for all Applicable Taxes and Fees

*Residents of Colorado have 60 days from the purchase date to register their vehicle.
