Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.

  • Bill of Sale
    • Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale.
    • If you have any questions regarding the bill of sale, contact your local DDS.
  • Completed Tag/Title Application
  • Valid Georgia Auto Insurance Policy
  • Vailed Form of Identification
  • Proof of Georgia Residency
    • Examples:
      • Utility bill.
      • Pay stub with your printed address.
      • Lease agreement.
  • Proof of Ownership
    • Examples:
      • Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin signed over to you.
      • The last owner's title, signed over to you.
      • The vehicle's current registration, signed over to you.
  • Emissions Test
    • The state of Georgia requires all vehicles to pass an emissions test, with some exemptions.

  • Payment for all Applicable Taxes and Fees

*Residents of Georgia have 7 days from the purchase date to register their vehicle.
