Illinois Vehicle Registration
Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.
- Properly Filled Out Title
- Bill of Sale
- Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale.
- If you have questions regarding the bill of sale, contact your local ISOS.
- Application for Vehicle Transaction
- Proof of a Valid Illinois Auto Insurance Policy
- Information (Name and Address) of all Lienholders
- If applicable
- Private Party Vehicle Tax Transaction

- If applicable.
- Odometer Disclosure Statement for Title Transfers
- Must be signed by both the new and previous owner.
- Valid Form of Identification
- Emissions Test
- The state of Illinois requires all vehicles to pass an emissions test.

- Payment for all Applicable Taxes and Fees
