Indiana Vehicle Registration
Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.
- Properly Filled Out Title
- Bill of Sale
- Bring your PrivateAuto Bill of Sale.
- If you have questions regarding the bill of sale, contact your local BMV.
- Valid Form of Identification
- Valid Indiana Auto Insurance Policy
- Emissions Test
- Emissions tests are only required in certain counties.

- Payment for all Applicable Taxes and Fees
*If you are registering your vehicle less than 60 days from the purchase date, you can register your vehicle online. If it has been more than 60 days from the sale date, you must bring all necessary documentation to your local BMV.
