Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.

• Properly Filled Out Title
• Bill of Sale
  • Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale.
  • If you have questions regarding the bill of sale, contact your local SOS Office.
• Valid Michigan Auto Insurance Policy
• Power of Attorney
  
  • Only if an owner is unable to appear in person.
  • If an owner is unable to appear in person, they must also provide a photocopy of their identification.
• Emissions Test
  • The state of Michigan does NOT require emissions testing.

*Residents of Michigan have 15 days from the purchase date to register their vehicle.
