Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.
- Properly Filled Out Title
- Bill of Sale
- Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale.
- If you have questions regarding the bill of sale, contact your local DMV.
- Valid Form of Identification
- Valid Texas Auto Insurance Policy
- Application for Texas Title and/or Registration
- Safety Inspection
- The state of Texas requires all vehicles to receive a safety inspection.

- Emissions Test
- The state of Texas requires vehicles registered in certain counties to get an emissions test.
- Counties Subject to an Emissions Test: Brazoria, Collin, Dallas, Denton, El Paso, Ellis, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Johnson, Kaufman, Montgomery, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, Travis, and Williamson.
