Oklahoma - How To Transfer A Title

Before beginning, please note the following:

• Only use black or blue ink. Any other color will void the title.
• Do not erase anything or use white-out.
• Write neatly.
• Do not use nicknames.
• Mistakes can void the document.

Oklahoma Title Transfer

Front of Title:

*Red = Seller, Teal = Buyer, Green = Notary*

1. The seller enters the buyer's name and address and the vehicle's purchase price.
   1. If there is a co-buyer, the seller will also enter their name and address.
2. The seller enters the exact odometer reading and signs and prints their name.
   1. Don't include tenths of a mile.
   2. Only check boxes 1 or 2 if the mileage is in excess of the odometer's mechanical limits or the reading is not the actual mileage.
   3. If there is a co-seller, they will also sign and print their name.
3. A notary enters the required information.
4. The buyer signs and prints their name.
   1. If there is a co-buyer, they will also sign and print their name.

Back of Title:

*Teal = Buyer*

1. If applicable, the buyer enters the name, address, city, state, and zip code of the lienholder to appear on the new title and the lien date.

• Application for Oklahoma Certificate of Title for a Vehicle
• Proof of a Valid Oklahoma Auto Insurance Policy
• Lien Release Form
  • If applicable

Smog/Emissions Test

• Not applicable to the state of Oklahoma.
