Washington - How To Transfer A Title

Before beginning, please note the following:

• Only use black or blue ink. Any other color will void the title.
• Do not erase anything or use white-out.
• Write neatly.
• Do not use nicknames.
• Mistakes can void the document.

Washington Title Transfer

*Red = Seller, Teal = Buyer*

Front of Title:

1. The seller enters their signature and the date.
   1. If there are co-sellers, they will also enter their signature and the date.
2. The seller enters the exact odometer reading, enters the transfer date, and checks box 1.
   1. Don't include tenths of a mile.
   2. Only check boxes 2 or 3 if the mileage is in excess of the odometer's mechanical limits or the odometer reading is not the actual mileage.
3. The buyer sign and prints their name and enters their address.
4. The seller signs and prints their name and enters their address.

   

Back of Title:

*Red = Lienholder*

1. If applicable, the lienholder to be listed on the new title will complete the required section.
