Washington - How To Transfer A Title
Before beginning, please note the following:
- Only use black or blue ink. Any other color will void the title.
- Do not erase anything or use white-out.
- Write neatly.
- Do not use nicknames.
- Mistakes can void the document.
Washington Title Transfer
*Red = Seller, Teal = Buyer*
Front of Title:
- The seller enters their signature and the date.
- If there are co-sellers, they will also enter their signature and the date.
- The seller enters the exact odometer reading, enters the transfer date, and checks box 1.
- Don't include tenths of a mile.
- Only check boxes 2 or 3 if the mileage is in excess of the odometer's mechanical limits or the odometer reading is not the actual mileage.
- The buyer sign and prints their name and enters their address.
- The seller signs and prints their name and enters their address.
Back of Title:
*Red = Lienholder*
- If applicable, the lienholder to be listed on the new title will complete the required section.
