Wyoming - How To Transfer A Title
Before beginning, please note the following:
- Only use black or blue ink. Any other color will void the title.
- Do not erase anything or use white-out.
- Write neatly.
- Do not use nicknames.
- Mistakes can void the document.
Wyoming Title Transfer
Front of Title:
*Red = Lienholder*
- If applicable, the lienholder will release the lien by filling out the required section.
- If there is more than one lienholder, they will also release the lien by filling out the required section.
- If there is more than one lienholder, they will also release the lien by filling out the required section.
Back of Title:
*Red = Seller, Teal = Buyer, Green = Notary*
- The buyer prints their name, street address, city, and state.
- The seller prints their name, enters the exact odometer reading, and checks the box stating that the odometer reading is the actual mileage.
- Don't include tenths of a mile.
- Only check boxes 2 or 3 if the odometer reading is in excess of its mechanical limits or the odometer reading is not the actual mileage.
- The seller signs and prints their name and enters the date of sale.
- If there is a co-seller, they will also sign and print their name.
- A notary public fills out the required section.
- The buyer signs and prints their name.
- If there is a co-buyer, they will also sign and print their name.
- The buyer enters the amount and date of the lien and the address of the lienholder (if applicable) and then signs and prints their name.
- If there is a co-buyer, they will also sign and print their name.
- If there is a co-buyer, check either yes or no, indicating whether or not the new title will show joint ownership.
- A notary public fills out the required section.
