Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.

• Properly Filled Out Title
• Bill of Sale
  • Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale.
  • If you have questions regarding the bill of sale, contact your local DOR.
• Valid Form of Mississippi Identification
• Odometer Reading
  • Only if the vehicle was purchased outside of the state of Mississippi.
• The Vehicles VIN
  • Used to help calculate taxes.
• Emissions Test
  • The state of Mississippi does NOT require emissions tests.

*Residents of Mississippi have 7 days from the purchase date to register their vehicle. If you purchased your vehicle in a different county from your home county, you have an additional 48 hours.
