Ohio Vehicle Registration
Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.
- Properly Filled Out Title
- Bill of Sale
- Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale.
- If you have questions regarding the bill of sale, contact your local BMV.
- Valid Ohio Auto Insurance Policy
- Ohio Driver's License or Proof of Social Security
- Power of Attorney
- Only if one or more owners cannot be present when registering the vehicle.
- Emissions Test
- The state of Ohio requires vehicles in specific counties to get an emissions test.

*Residents of Ohio have 30 days from the purchase date to register their vehicle.
