Oklahoma Vehicle Registration

Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.

  • Properly Filled Out Title
  • Bill of Sale
    • Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale.
    • If you have questions regarding the bill of sale, contact your local DPS.
  • Application for Oklahoma Certificate of Title for a Vehicle
  • Proof of Ownership
  • Valid Oklahoma Auto Insurance Policy
  • Lien Documentation
    • If applicable.
  • Odometer Disclosure Statement
    • Only if the vehicle is nine years old or less.
    • This can be filled out on the back of the title.
  • VIN and/or Odometer Inspection
    • Only if the vehicle was bought outside the state of Oklahoma.
    • Performed by a tag agent.
  • License Plate From Your Previous Vehicle
    • Only if you are transferring your plates to the new
  • Emissions Test
    • The state of Oklahoma does NOT require emissions testing.

  • Payment for all Applicable Taxes and Fees

*Residents of Oklahoma have 30 days from the purchase date to register their vehicle.
