Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.

  • Properly Filled Out Title
  • Bill of Sale and Odometer Disclosure Statement
    • Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale.
    • If you have questions regarding the bill of sale, contact your local DMV.
  • Valid Vermont Driver's License
  • Valid Vermont Auto Insurance Policy
  • Registration/Tax/Title Application
  • Lien Release Form
    • If applicable.
  • VIN Verification
    • Only if the vehicle was not titled/registered previously in Vermont.
  • Safety Inspection
    • The state of Vermont requires all vehicles to pass a safety inspection within 15 days of the vehicle's registration.
