Failure to provide the following can delay the registration process.

  • Properly Filled Out Title
    • If not held by a lienholder.
  • Bill of Sale
    • Bring your PrivateAuto bill of sale.
    • If you have questions regarding the bill of sale, contact your local DOT.
  • Odometer Disclosure
    • Only if the vehicle year is 2011 or newer.
  • Valid West Virginia Auto Insurance Policy
  • Application for Certificate of Title for a Motor Vehicle
  • Vehicle Inspection
    • Only applicable to vehicles that don't have an inspection sticker.
    • Must be inspected three days before titling and registering.
  • Emissions Test
    • The state of West Virginia does NOT require emissions testing.
