What if My Vehicle Is Owned by an Entity or Trust?

If your title has a business name or trust listed as the owner, you will want to use the 'Ownership' section when creating a listing to enter the business details. The authorized signer of the entity or trust must also be the PrivateAuto account holder so we can properly populate the bill of sale that can be e-signed at the time of closing.

In Step 5 of the create listing flow titled 'Ownership Info,' you will see a question that asks, 'Is this vehicle owned by an entity or trust?' You will want to choose Yes and fill in the additional fields that show up upon clicking Yes as seen in this screenshot:

Be sure to list the business name exactly how you see it on your title. You will also need to enter the title of the authorized signer within the entity or trust. For example, manager, trustee, or CEO, etc.

Once you fill out this section correctly, the bill of sale will populate accurately with the provided details at the time of closing.
