How To Connect Your Bank Account Via Plaid

*Before attempting to connect your bank account, make sure that you have created a PrivateAuto Pay account. Click here to learn how.

1. From the main account screen, press on either the teal box found in the top left corner of the nav bar (the teal box on the mobile version is found when you press the three lines at the top left corner of the screen) or on PrivateAuto Pay under the "Verification" section.

   

2. Press "Connect Bank."

   

3. Press "Continue."*By pressing continue, you are agreeing to the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.

   

4. Select your bank or credit union, and then enter your account number and password.

5. Select which account you would like to have linked.

6. Press continue on the page stating your bank account has been successfully linked.

7. You will now see the name of your bank, the account you selected, and the last 4 digits of your account under your PrivateAuto Pay account. You can add another bank account at any time by pressing "Link New Account" found about your bank account info.

Here is some helpful pre-purchase advice:

If you plan on buying a car, it is in your best interest to onboard the funds you are using to pay for the car as soon as possible, as it could take 1 to 6 days to fund your PrivateAuto Pay account.

For example, if you plan on spending $10k on a new car, you should deposit those funds into your PrivateAuto Pay account in advance so they are available to transfer instantly during the deal.
